Ms. Matsuda will describe the new automatic CFD tool implemented by Panasonic based on the software HELYX, which can be easily employed by general mechanical designers to complete complex CFD analyses as part of the R&D process.

Featured Talk - Accelerating HPC CFD Workflows in HPC Clouds

As part of the EPCC supercomputing centre based at the University of Edinburgh, Mr. Graham will discuss the advantages of High Performance Computing (HPC) as an accelerator for CFD workflows, including the HELYX on-demand service provided by ENGYS using EPCC's Cirrus cluster.

Numerical Simulation of a Close-coupled Atomizer: Verification of Compressible Fluid Flow Calculations with Experimental Results

As part of the design and performance verification of full-scale powder production at SMS Siemag, Dr. Vogl will compare simulations of pure gas flow and water-air flow in a closed-coupled atomizer obtained in HELYX with experimental results performed at TU Darmstadt.

Mr. Nielsen will introduce the subject “democratization of simulations”. A brief history about what have been done to help the accessibility of simulation software. Development and Validation of an Unsteady RANS Solver to Model Resistance and Motion of Ships in Waves

Mr. Geremia will introduce a new URANS based 6DOF solver to model resistance and motion of ship hulls in waves, including extensive validation work completed by CETENA using HELYX and HELYX-Marine in a large HPC environment. This work was completed as part of the H2020 Fortissimo 2 project funded by the European Comission.
